GAR is
“…basically the opposite of moe”.
“…envy, as in ‘Wow, I wish I was as cool as him’”.
“…characters and individuals who are so overwhelmingly manly that your own masculinity is absolutely *buried*, leaving you naught but a whimpering, swooning girl-child before them”.
Anyhow, since apparently two of my readers have apparently been dissuaded from watching 300 by my previous “review”, I just thought I’d clarify.
A little anti-moé every once in a while for the sake of contrast won’t kill you, guys. ;-)
(Speaking of which, apparently Guts won SaiGAR 2007. Bleh… I can’t stand Berserk…)
*ahem* By the way, the art style of manhwa is still taking some getting used to. I opened up 1001③ today, and had a moment of cognitive dissonance before realizing, “oh! that’s supposed to be a pretty lady…” See, with manga, that would have been a lot quicker. xD
